My daughter and I boarded a boat at the Ventura Harbor and journeyed to Anacapa Island for day of hiking and exploring. The island is a huge breeding ground for seagulls. They nest all over the ground and spend the day noisily guarding their nests and chasing each other. It’s a loud, active place to explore.
The boat ride itself was very fun and in addition to the fresh ocean air and scenery, we crossed paths with various pods of dolphins and other sea creatures. Totally recommended as a fun day trip if you want to get away from the city for a bit.
