It’s always hard to say goodbye. Knowing I’m not going to see my family again for a week is never easy. I know we’ll probably be in touch every day, but walking away is the hardest part of any trip.
I’m now at the airport waiting for the red eye flight to Albany. I’m super excited to get underway, and even more excited to see my cousins (I think they are cousins – I always call them cousin Marty and Elyse). They really are the sweetest folks.
My only concern at the moment is for my bike box. Elyse sent me some pictures of when it arrived and there are large holes in the top and a giant gash down the side of the box. I’m not too worried because it’s out of my control at the moment, but I’m hoping everything made it safe and sound. If there is stuff missing or my bike is damaged, at least I’ll be able to spend most of Saturday at a bike shop. But, fingers crossed this is not the case!
Better run – the plane is boarding!
